Victor Essiet to Receive Award on International Peace Day
Victor Essiet, the legendary 'Godfather of African Reggae' and frontman of The Mandators, is about to receive a special award on United Nations International Peace Day.
The ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Essiet is being honored with the Global Melody Mastermind Merit Award for his outstanding contributions to music, his exceptional talent, and his creative impact on the global stage. His dedication to humanitarian causes and promoting peace has also set him apart as a respected philanthropist.
The award presentation will take place at Merit House in Maitama, Abuja, starting at 11 a.m. on September 21st.
International Peace Day was established by the United Nations in 1981 and officially recognized on September 21 each year by the UN General Assembly in 2002. This year’s event in Nigeria is organized by May Peace Prevail On Earth International, a non-profit group that works closely with the UN.
