Major Lazer returns with a fresh batch of Gangsta remixes, headlined by the official debut of the group's newest member, America Foster. The remix pack, out now via Mad Decent, includes five versions of the shatta dancehall single featuring Busy Signal and Kybba.
Foster, a British-Jamaican artist and content creator, joined Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums this summer, marking the latest evolution of the genre-bending powerhouse. Her freestyle over the Gangsta instrumental—originally recorded after a viral on-air moment at Capital XTRA in London—serves as her official introduction to the group's global fanbase.
"Coming back out now with America and Busy Signal feels like starting a new chapter while revisiting an old one," says Diplo. "Busy Signal was a big part of our journey with Major Lazer... Now, more than a decade later, we're starting another journey with America joining the group."
The remix project also includes a French-language version featuring Maureen, plus club-ready edits from Bontan and DJ Fade x Jason Julian.
Originally released earlier this year, Gangsta reunited Major Lazer with dancehall icon Busy Signal—who previously appeared on their 2013 hit Watch Out For This (Bumaye)—and linked them with Kybba of Basshall Movement, blending dancehall, shatta, and future bass into one of their biggest anthems of 2025.
With the addition of America Foster, Major Lazer enters a new era while returning to their Caribbean roots. Expect more new music and unconventional rollouts as the group continues expanding its global sound—true to its mission of "making the world smaller by making the party bigger."
