All Eyez On Me at The Grammy Museum

We visited The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles for their exhibit All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur. The exhibit includes handwritten notes, lyrics, poetry, outfits, original tape boxs, studio notes and much more. In addition there's also a number of multimedia stations available playing audio/video of Tupac recordings and interviews.
The exhibit does a good job of taking you from his early days with Digital Underground through his success as a solo artist prior to his untimely death.

Check out a short video below to see some of the items on display:

All Eyez On Me at The Grammy Museum It's interesting to see some of Shakur's early work as laid out by his own pen, like a notebook with the original lyrics to Brenda's Got A Baby off his debut studio album 2Pacalypse Now, or his personal account of an interaction that took place in prison.

"They have made me...immortal." - Tupac Shakur

"It means a lot to me that Bob Santelli and the GRAMMY Museum have chosen to honor my son with their upcoming exhibit of his works," said Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur. "Tupac's writings are an honest reflection of his passions for, and about life. His timeless messages have instilled hope for those who have little, and for others, they serve as a catalyst for change. His words continue to motivate and inspire new generations. The world is a better place because of him."

While the installation doesn't take up too much space on the already small Grammy Museum floor, it's enough to keep you interested. If you're in (or plan to be in) the Los Angeles area between now and the beginning of January it's worth a look and cheaper than the price of a movie ticket.

The All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur exhibit runs February 2, 2015 through January 10, 2016 at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Standard ticket price for an adult is $12.95 with additional pricing options available on their website.
