Opening of The Artform Studio Has a Star-Studded DJ Lineup
This Sunday, April 9th, join Andrew Lojero and Adrian & Sherry Younge for the grand opening of The Artform Studio salon and boutique record store. The team will be joined by a number of your favorite DJ's to celebrate the occasion including Karriem Riggins, The Gaslamp Killer and New York's J Period.
After spending the better half of a decade in Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District, The Artform Studio has relocated to LA's historic Highland Park. To celebrate the new location, the team behind the studio are bringing out over 20 of your favorite DJ's favorite DJs. You can take a look at the full lineup below.
In addition to the salon services and vinyl you'll also be able to find a nice selection of hand picked books. Since announcing the grand opening, co-owner Andrew Lojero has been sharing some of the gems you'll be able to find once they open via Instagram.
Before founding The Artform Studio, Sherry Younge served as a hair and makeup specialist for various upscale salons throughout Los Angeles. Adrian Younge has produced for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Common, Wu-Tang, and has most recently scored Marvel's Luke Cage (alongside A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammad). Their unique perspectives on hair and music has brought them great success and serves as a refreshing reminder that beauty and melody are synonymous.
The Artform Studio's services include men's and women's haircuts, hair coloring, hair styling, perm / relaxer, make-up application, and hair extensions. The record boutique features thousands of rare vinyl and books, curated by Adrian Younge’s infatuation with classic Hip Hop, jazz, rare soul, and psychedelic world music. The boutiques' bespoke approach is further curated by co-owner and concert producer/promoter Andrew Lojero (ArtDontSleep), as well as the store’s manager, Ray Montano (Virgin Records/Amoeba).
Open daily from 11am to 7pm, the studio is located at 5611 N. Figueroa St. Suite 2, Los Angeles, CA 90042. Call 213–613-1050 for an appointment, or use "The Artform Studio" app, available in the app store. If you plan on attending the grand opening, make sure to RSVP through the Facebook Event link.
